Care and Maintenance

It is important to remember that this is a natural product, and by following some simple steps you can enhance its appearance as it ages.

 

• Do not leave food on the board for extended periods of time.

• After use, simply wipe the board clean with a damp cloth. 

• Do not soak the board.

 

Over time, you will find that the board no longer feels smooth to the touch, as moisture from food and cleaning encourages the grain to open up. 

 

In this instance, we advise that you use a fine grade sandpaper very gently over the surface of the board, in the direction of the grain.  Once smooth to the touch, apply a coat of food safe wax, and allow to dry fully.
